What is the difference between a daylight reticle and a twilight reticle?Updated 2 days ago

Until the early 1990s, only riflescopes without illumination were in circulation. With the agreement that an illuminated reticle does not violate the Federal Hunting Law, riflescopes with illuminated reticles experienced a real boom and are now standard in hunting operations.
It is also standard that the brightness of an illuminated reticle can be adjusted. In the case of the twilight reticle, this adjustable brightness curve is adapted to the eye’s perception at night. This prevents the target from being washed out and protects the eyes from overstimulation. In most cases, reticle 4 forms the basis. During daytime use, shooting is done as usual with the #4 reticle without activating the illumination.
Due to advances in diode technology, it is now possible to offer riflescopes with a daylight illuminated reticle. As the name suggests, this type of illumination is also intended for daytime use. Thanks to the high performance of today’s diodes, the aiming mark can be made visible under almost all lighting conditions. Here too, the brightness control is naturally adapted to the natural perception of the eyes.
